  • a reasonbly easy 30 odd minute walk upto the first lookout tower, that views the cooktown township, andeaver river, and grassy hill, after that point the track becomes steep and in some parts a little climbing is involved.after an hour i arrived at the second lookout tower which views quaritine bay and walker bay on the otherside, strong constant south easterly winds are blowing.from there its about roughly another hour (depending how fast you're hiking)to the summit you'll know when you're gettin to the top because you'll hear the wind blowing the comms tower thats there.at the top where the helipad is there is another steep track that leads down to a large granite rock where there is a great coastal views,be careful because there is no fence railing to stop you from toppling over the edge.
